Music Ministry


 The music ministry is under the direction of Mr. Andy Truex.


We have many ways you can become involved in music at First United Methodist Church.


 Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is comprised of people ages high school and older. The choir sings each Sunday morning at the 11:00 Traditional Service. Rehearsals are each Wednesday night from 7:00- 8:30 p.m. in the Choir Room. This group sings a wide array of music styles, from classical to contemporary. Do you love to sing? The greatest thing about this group is that there are no auditions required to join. If you want to make a joyful noise unto the Lord, come and join us!


 Early Risers Ensemble

Bring your hearts and voices to this ensemble! This wonderful group of people are those who attend the 8;30 a.m. Rehearsals are porior to the service at 8:00 a.m. There is no audition required to join this fun and exciting group.


 Glory Ringers Handbell Ensemble

Ring those bells to your heart's desire. This is one of our instrumental ensembles that plays once or twice a month. Our handbells are available for you to join us and ring along with fellow members, ages high school and up. The music difficulty ranges from easy to medium/advanced. Come and ring with us!


 Wind Ensemble

Do you have an instrument that you have sititing around at home waiting to be played? Here is an opportunity for you! The Wind Ensemble rehearses each Sunday at 12:15 after the close of the 11:00 Traditional Service. The ensemble plays at services throughout the year. This group is for adults and youth who are middle school and up and who are proficient at playing an instrument. The group plays diverse styles of music from contemporary to classical. Come bring your instrument and get ready to play.


 Unplugged Worship Band

Calling all musicians who like to play an instrument or sing. This contemporary ensemble is under the leadership of Stephen and Felicia Bumgarner.
