This Sunday, Pastor Adam preaches the last in his inaugural sermon series with FUMC, 'New Creation'. This week, we look at Ephesians, in which Paul reminds the people of Ephesus that it is through God's grace that we can be born into a new creation. Join us this weekend to explore how we can put in the work to make our own transformation.
This Sunday, join us as we look at the writings of the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians. In this week's verse, Paul writes to the believers in Corinth in Chapter 4, verse 16, "Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day." Just like the butterfly's time spent in the Chrysalis, our time here on earth is short compared to our eternal life. But the growth and change we experience during this time are essential to our spiritual development. Our call is to work within the chrysalis of change to allow beauty to form and take shape.
Our new Senior Pastor, Adam Spore, preaches at FUMC Waxahachie for the first time this coming Sunday. Since we are just getting started on a new journey together, we’ll examine what the Apostle Paul told the early church in Corinth as they began their journey. Paul grounded his message in the simple truth of God's grace, the power of a unified church, and the transformation we experience through Christ. Just like a butterfly starts small and grows over time, our faith is transformed little by little on strong, simple truths. Join us Sunday for the first in a series on New Creation as we take our first small steps together.
This Sunday, Rev. Val Stewart leads us in worship as we wait for the beginning of a new chapter with our new Senior Pastor, Rev. Adam Spore. Change can be hard, but it’s also how God helps us grow and become more like Jesus. Just like the disciples were sent to serve, each of us is also called to be part of God’s mission in this church. Pastor Adam has been chosen to lead us, but we are all ministers together, working as one church family. Celebrate with us as we follow God into a new and exciting season at FUMC Waxahachie.
When everything familiar is taken away—home, comfort, power—what does it mean to still be faithful? The ancient Israelites wrestled with these same questions during exile, wondering if God had abandoned them or if their faith even mattered anymore. But voices like Habakkuk and Daniel show us that being chosen by God isn’t about privilege—it’s about living with courage, integrity, and trust, even in hard times. Please join us for this special Patriotic Music Sunday!
This Sunday, Pastor Tully will share a message from the heart as he looks back on 45 years of serving as a pastor. What does it mean to live with gratitude, to serve faithfully, and to trust God through every moment—good or bad? Pastor Tully reminds us that being a follower of Jesus isn’t about being perfect, but about doing the next right thing with God’s help. Each of us has a role to play in sharing God’s love. We hope you’ll join us—it’s going to be a special day.
